How The $avings Makes $ense Program Works
Each participating school has a specially designed banking booth
that serves as the “branch” for the school. Students,
under the guidance of adult volunteers and bank representatives
perform the operation of accepting deposits on the designated banking
day.
Because the account is an ordinary savings account, students can
opt to deposit into the account at any Country Bank for Savings
office at any other time. If students wish to make a withdrawal,
they can do so at any Country Bank office during normal business
hours. Withdrawals are not allowed at school.
The minimum dollar amount that must be on deposit to keep the account
open is $1.00. Students need to maintain a balance of at least $3.00
to earn monthly interest.
Country Bank is proud to be part of this program and is eager to
help children learn as much about money and finance as possible.
We gladly offer free tours of our offices to any school groups who
are interested in learning more about our bank.
